The “anti-diversity manifesto”

As you may have heard, a Google employee was fired for internally posting a critique of the “system.” Here is a copy of the so-called “anti-diversity manifesto.”

I think the funniest part of the situation is that the Google employee actually had good intentions. He pointed out that men and women and liberals and conservatives were different. He wanted to play to each groups strength and weaknesses to further promote diversity and reduce the echo chamber. However, because he didn’t toe the ideological line, he was fired. He was fired because he wanted to promote diversity by removing biases from the process.

His goal was to ultimately promote diversity like the company wants, but because he thinks about it differently he got fired. You can’t just promote diversity, you have to think about it the right way too. There’s a reason why the left is called the “thought police.”

You can’t make this stuff up.

I glanced over the document yesterday and it seemed like the person had a few genuinely good thoughts on the whole concept, but human nature is not something you can police. So conservatives tend to act one way while liberals tend to act another, go ahead, try and wrangle that herd of cats and see how it works for you. Aside from brute force and violence, there is no other way. You just have to let things flow with general rules that apply to all.

I linked this over at my usual haunt. At the moment, I am arguing that this incident may be the biggest civil liberties event of the decade and perhaps the century. If it is not this, there will be another time when political correctness goes too far. It has to hit a brick wall sometime.

In my opinion, liberals are American Soviets. They want to dictate to people what their culture should be and how they should live their lives. They want to stamp out any dissent and are violent opposed to free speech (See Portland Ore or University of Berkeley for further details). They even want to dictate to other countries how they should live – a type of liberal cultural imperialism.

Jordan Peterson just interviewed the author of the memo – James Damore.

I wish this were true, but I think we’re past the point of no return. The normalization of pedophilia will be the “next big thing.”

The heresy is to suppose that natural differences exist and aren’t evenly distributed across all popoulation. The liberal/progressive agenda falls apart if the problem isn’t only nurture, but nature also.

Well, or the argument is different and less emotionally persuasive I suppose.

I mean one could still argue that diversity is good because reasons, even if the differences are at least significantly caused by biology. It just isn’t as emotionally persuasive as arguments about “unearned privilege” and historical social discrimination are. Some people will still agree with them, but fewer will because it isn’t the same kind of argument about dismantling unearned privilege, which is more of a “social cause” type of argument rather than a rational “this is good anyway because reasons” type of argument.

Seems that some of the more prominent members of the Goo-goo roster have been doxxed:

I’m opposed to that sort of thing in general, but I’m sick to death of these Leftist fascists in the media and higher education.

  9. @Chris:

I’m generally opposed to Firebombing cities, until such time as there is a War to win. Then, let’em fly!

Know the age you’re in and act appropriately.
